MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, CALIF. --

Company Grade Officer's Council
The CGOC will be meeting Saturday of both UTA's in Bldg 441, MEO/EEO conference room, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. This month Maj. James Bullard, 452nd Air Mobility Wing Executive Officer, will give a short brief on the Reserve Officers Association followed by a general meeting to discuss community service projects, intramural sports and social activities. 1Lt Faith L. Lunch and Learn
The Sports and Fitness center will be hosting a Lunch and Learn Saturday Aug. 11 at the Hap Arnold Club. It will begin at 11 a.m. and troops are encouraged to get their lunch and bring it to the meeting. During the briefing participants will be taught about aspect of healthy living. Lunch and Learn is part of the Air Force Reserve Command's Fit to Fight-Keep Moving Initiative. For more information contact the center at 655-2673.

Bowling and Basketball
Registration for the upcoming bowling and basketball season's have begun. Intramural bowling will begin Sept. 6 and the first meeting is scheduled for Wed., August 15, at 1:30 in the conference room of building 466. Intramural basketball will begin the first week in October and a mandatory coaches meeting will take place Wednesday Sept. 19, at noon in the conference room of building 426. War Ball
Wednesday, Aug. 29, the Sports and Fitness center will hold a War Ball competition at 11 a.m. This is a team competition and units can earn points for the Commander' s Cup Trophy by participating. So far, the Army's 304th Sustainment Brigade is in the lead followed by the 452nd Maintenance Squadron.

Leadership Conference
Sept. 14, 15 and 16 March ARB will host their annual Leadership Conference. The conference will kick off Friday evening at 6 p.m. with a dinner at the Hap Arnold Club. For tickets contact your first sergeant. Saturday morning will include briefing's on pre-deployment, family support services and financial planning ending in time for troops to participate in the base picnic. Briefings will continue Sun with seminars on leadership, integrity, promotions, fit-to-fight, mentoring and the retirement system.

Base Picnic
Saturday Sept. 15 March ARB will be having it's annual Base Picnic. The picnic is open to all military members of March and their immediate families. Free food, drink and activities will be provided. Please, no animals or personal grills at the picnic.

Base Talent Show
Saturday Sept.. 15 at the Cultural Center will be the first ever "March Idol." It will begin after the base picnic at 5 p.m. (doors open at 4:30 p.m.). Tickets can now be purchased. For more information contact Staff Sgt's Andre Melanson or Renita Turner at 655-5167 

Chili Cook-Off
Does your organization have a drop dead, blow your top off, chili recipe? Then join the chili cook-off being held at the services sponsored Car Show/Chili Cook-Off/Concert, Saturday, November 3 in LeMay Park. Registration has begun so sign up to compete. The chili will be judged "people's choice" style. For more information, contact Linda Butler at 655-2673. 

Annual Military Ball
Help March ARB celebrate the Air Force's 60th Anniversary at this year's military ball. The ball will be November 17, at the Riverside Raincross Convention Center. Tickets on sale soon.

Empty Billboard Search
Do you know of a vacant billboard worthy of some high speed Air Force Reserve advertising? If so, Reservists from March ARB should tell local reserve recruiter Tech Sgt. Kamala Thigpen, the billboards location. She will determine the billboard's owner so the Air Force Reserve can advertise in that space. For more information, contact Sergeant Thigpen at 951-655-6969
