Birds of a different feather

The Great Blue Heron stretches its neck as it swallows a rat after catching it near the parade field at March Air Reserve Base, Calif. This protected species of migratory bird is spotted in various locations on base throughout the day and does its best to help control the rodent population here. (U.S. Air Force photo by Linda Welz)
