Phoenix Ravens hold training to hone marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat skills

After performing Raven quarterly training, March Raven's held tryouts, where prospective Ravens endure a "smoke" session, Nov. 30. Ravens don't recruit regularly but when they do, potential Ravens are put to the test with an Air Force physical training test and then the smoke session, where the goal is to exhaust the Airmen by having them perform a rigorous workout. The purpose is to prepare them for the intense training Ravens must endure in Raven school and during quarterly training. (U.S. Air Force photo by Megan Crusher)
