COLONEL WILLIAM MARTIN II

Colonel William Martin II, is Vice Commander, 452nd Air Mobility Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, March Air Reserve Base, California. As vice commander of the Air Force Reserve’s largest wing with more than 4,000 personnel, 9 C-17A Globemaster III’s and 14 KC-135R Stratotankers, he directs the support of worldwide airlift and air refueling operations. Col. Martin is also responsible for the daily operations of March ARB, which supports active duty, National Guard and Reserve tenants from the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines as well as Department of Homeland Security personnel with the Air Marine Operations Center.

Col. Martin is a 1997 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He is a command pilot with more than 3600 flying hours in multiple airlift aircraft including the C-141B, C-17A, UH-1N, C-12J, and C-40B. His operational flying experience and deployment history spans the globe to include Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Kenya and China. Col. Martin held positions in an array of staffs to include 13th Air Force Detachment One, 5th Air Force and United States Forces, Japan. Prior to his current assignment, Col. Martin was the director for the Special Access Program Management Office, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
