11/3/2010 - MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, CALIF. -- The 912th Air Refueling Squadron stood up at March Air Reserve Base Oct. 1. Seven members of the squadron are here as part of an advance party.

The unit will eventually have a total of 208 active duty personnel, to include 35 aircrew members, 138 maintainers (plus additional life support), intelligence, supply, command post, crew communication, medical personnel and commander support staff to augment and support operations with the 452nd Air Mobility Wing.

"The 912th is here to work with the 336th, 452nd and 752nd," said Lt. Col. Brice  Middleton, 912 ARS commander. "Our goal is to seamlessly integrate into their operations and provide them with increased capability while simultaneously providing additional air refueling missions to Air Mobility Command."

The squadron is in the process of setting up programs and processes and preparing for the first large wave of inbound personnel in January. The squadron's first flight is scheduled for Nov. 9.
