The Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Detachment 119 OL, located at March Field, provides services for reservists, active duty, civilian, contractor and military dependents. They conduct felony level criminal, fraud, counterintelligence and anti terrorism investigations. In addition, they continually brief base officials on the most up-to-date Force Protection matters.

The following frequently asked questions provided by SA Lucas Franzen, explain how to report items of a sensitive nature:

Q: How can I pass on information of interest without disclosing my identity to the OSI agent?

A: Recently, AFOSI implemented three new ways to provide anonymous tips, without disclosing identity.

Text Message --Text "AFOSI" plus your tip information to 274637 (CRIMES)

Online -- Go to https://www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=1111

Q: What happens when I contact the Tip Line?

A: When you contact the Tip Line you will always communicate with a live operator. When you submit your tip, you will be given a unique tip number. You will never be asked your name or personal information. Do not share the tip number with anyone.

Q: What actions should I take if more information is received?

A: If you have more information later, contact the Tip Line with updates.

Q: How does the online submission process work?

A: When you submit a tip online, your form is sent through a Secure Socket Connection (SSL). Tips submitted through the web are encrypted, confidential, anonymous and are securely transferred to the AFOSI. After submitting your tip, you will be provided with your own unique tip number and will be afforded an opportunity to create a password that you will use when checking on the status of your tip.
