The north end of March Air Reserve Base, near the ball field, is currently off-limits due to an ongoing project to build a new rubberized, one-half mile running track and support facilities.

Over the last month, there have been reports from the on-site contractor, that unauthorized personnel are still entering the construction zone for fitness training. The area is clearly marked with construction fencing and warning signs, alerting runners that the area should not be utilized.

The area has been designated as "Off Limits to Unauthorized Base Personnel," by the wing commander. The security police will escort those choosing to ignore this order out of the site, to face possible disciplinary action. If runners need a place for fitness training, the one and a half mile track behind the Air National Guard training site is available. Remember, safety is job one and everyone has a part to play in it.
