Base's first enlisted workshop to be held next month Published Feb. 17, 2011 By Chief Master Sgt. Cheryl Wente 452nd Medical Group 02/11/2011 -- March Air Reserve Base's first enlisted workshop will be held March 18-20 in San Bernardino, Calif. The workshop's theme is "Developing resilient and dedicated Airmen." This workshop will serve 300 of the base's 600 senior airmen, and future workshops will include the base's 700 staff sergeants and 700 technical sergeants. The workshop incorporates three focuses: taking care of your career, family and your future. The weekend will begin with a four-hour general session on Saturday morning and continue with breakout seminars through Sunday morning. There will be a fun, Fit-To-Fight event on Saturday evening and the workshop will conclude with a chief's panel on Sunday. The keynote speaker will be retired Chief Master Sgt. Mark Luzader, Sr.Director of Military and Veterans Outreach, Trident University International. The Air Force Sergeants Association, TRICARE, Military OneSource and other organizations will host booths at the workshop. The workshop planning team hopes the event will provide the necessary tools to enhance March Airmen's leadership skills and develop their career opportunities. Some topics that will be addressed in the workshop include: · Enlisted force development, with a focus on training, professional military education, career resource development and enlisted force development · Education benefits · Family readiness · Air Force writing: awards and decorations, enlisted performance reports · Financial responsibility · Understanding differences between generations · Communication skills · Personnel: virtual military personnel flight, civilian employment information The chief's panel, on the last day, will be comprised of Command Chief Master Sgt. Ericka Kelly and all of the group superintendents who will address concerns related to March Air Reserve Base.
