New system will enable reservists to make own lodging reservations Published Oct. 18, 2010 By Helen Holm March Inn MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, CALIF. -- The new Automated Lodging Reservation System that was created especially for Air Force reservists in unit training assembly and active duty training status is coming soon to March. Reserve members will begin making their own reservations through ALRS beginning with the December UTAs. This will provide the time necessary to get everyone informed and trained in the new process. Personnel from the 452nd Force Support Squadron will brief the new system to commanders, chiefs, 1st Sergeants and the Wing Advisory Council during October's B UTA and the November A and B UTAs. The staff at the March Inn is in the process of obtaining a 1-800 number for reservists to call ALRS for reservations. Members' PIN access will initially be the last 4 of their social security number. When the first call for reservations is made, members will be asked to change to a PIN of their choice. Members will have three choices: UTA, ADT and multiple tours. Members will receive a confirmation and the location where they will be staying. If it is to a commercial hotel, the hotel will automatically receive a fax and the member can go directly to the hotel as they do now. Reservation information will also automatically be faxed to the March Inn reservations office and will be input to the Defense Lodging System. Lodging is planning on keeping units together for UTAs and continuing the annual rotations. Reservists must process all actions (reservations, changes and cancellations) through ALRS. Reservations must be received no later than 5 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the UTA or member will be considered a walk-in and must come to March Inn and pay for accommodations. ALRS is for UTA and ADT only. Air National Guard, active duty and other March Inn guests will continue to utilize the Defense Lodging System, or e-mail or call the March Inn directly.
