Melin and representatives from the 336th Air Refueling Squadron accept the Air Force Association (AFA) Air Force Reserve Unit Award Sept. 16 at the AFA's 2009 Air and Space Conference and Technology Exhibition in National Harbor, Md. The award is given to the Air Force Reserve unit which displays superior performance and outstanding achievements. "The Air Force Association is proud to recognize outstanding contributions to the nation and to the U.S. Air Force," said Joe Sutter (far right), Chairman of the Board for AFA. "These recognitions are reserved for significant professional excellence and major contributions to national defense. Our nation depends on innovative, dedicated professionals like these award recipients." The AFA is an independent, nonprofit, civilian education organization promoting public understanding of aerospace power.
