We certainly are. The unit has demonstrated a sense of pride and professionalism throughout the inspection," the Inspector General Team said in the out brief notes given at the end of the first Unit Compliance Inspection the 163d Reconnaissance Wing has ever received. During the four days of the UCI, the IG team administrated a rigorous compliance inspection. The end report noted observing engaged leadership, strong sense of teamwork and true dedication to the mission throughout the unit. These things all led to the 163 RW being 95 percent compliant and receiving 18 individual superior performer awards and four superior performance team awards. "Congratulations to your wing for a very good UCI report," said Maj. Gen. Dennis G. Lucas, California Air National Guard Commander. "The 163d has performed miracles since early 2006, standing up the many Predator missions assigned to the wing." He went on to say the UCI is the most difficult inspection to pass and the wing came through with flying colors.
