The Riverside Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (SERT) took advantage of this rare opportunity to photograph their three Sheriff's Mobile Command Posts in front of a C-17, September 3 at March ARB. Normally, these mobile command posts are stationed at three different locations throughout Riverside, but on September 3, the three command posts were together.

Riverside Sheriff's Department is made up of about 4,600 employees and provides law enforcement to 15 of the 26 cities of Riverside County. They are responsible for over 7,000 square miles. Their personnel comprise units specializing in law, coroner services, courts, corrections and public administration.

When critical incidents arise, the SERT is quick to respond. With the use of their Sheriff's Mobile Command Post stations, they are easily deployed to just about any location and have the ability to communicate with the rest of the world wirelessly via satellite.

SERT maintains an excellent working relationship with March ARB. Corporal Jim Lanning, member of the SERT, says the Riverside Sheriff's Department appreciates working alongside March ARB personnel because they are highly skilled and professional.

In the times of disasters or large scale emergencies, Riverside Sheriff's Department and March ARB work very closely in a joint effort to serve and protect the community.
