Gas Mask Practice Published Aug. 31, 2009 By Staff Sgt. Donald R. Allen 452 AMW MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, CALIF. -- Tech. Sgt. Zita Cordova-Martinez, 452nd AMDS, practices sighting techniques wearing a chemical protective mask while attending M-16 rifle qualification training at March ARB. Rifle qualifications with a gas mask are required for all service members deploying to CENTCOM. M-16 instructor Tech. Sgt. Oscar Munoz teaches students to angle the rifle to them instead of angling their head to the rifle. His advice for succeeding in the gas mask M-16 qualification is simple, "Rotate the weapon until you can see the front sight and the rear sight." (U. S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Donald R. Allen)
