When the Sailors of the Moreno Valley NOSC enter a parade, they travel in style. Instead of riding on a traditional vehicle in the Moreno Valley July 4th Parade, they located a discarded Navy RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) and used a March Air Reserve Base crane to lift it onto a trailer. They decorated the boat with traditional Navy bunting and traveled through the parade on the RHIB pulled behind a truck. They chose to wear a variety of uniforms to keep things visually interesting for the audience and they crafted a special cannon for distributing candy to the children alongside the road. Their creativity and hard work paid off as they won the 2009 Moreno Valley July 4th Parade Outstanding Vehicle Award. The trophy was presented to the NOSC July 14 at the Moreno Valley City Hall.
