Megan Crusher 452 AMW Public Affairs MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, CALIF. -- On Saturday, the Chiefs' Group held a boot shine outside the club. The Chiefs enlisted the help of Joey Parker, owner of the Executive Shoe Shine shop. He offered his expertise to help the Chiefs do a successful job. "I specialize in black leather products and the green and beige canvas boots," said Mr. Parker. When asked how it felt to have his Chief clean his boots, Airman First Class Thomas Dappert, Jr, said, "It's weird." Chief Master Sgt Velasquez, 452 SFS manager said, "It feels good and it's also great for rapport with some of the younger troops." The donations received from the event will go to the Chiefs' Recognition program. "The ceremony will be held April 18, and is intended to recognize Chiefs for their promotion to that level of leadership," said Chief Master Sgt. Agustin Huerta, the 452nd's command chief. There also was a Chiefs' boot shine on the Saturday of the upcoming A UTA.
