Contestants went head to head at the 2nd annual "March Idol" talent competition, Saturday, at the Cultural Resources Center. The competition, modeled after the popular TV show "American Idol," featured singers, a comedian, a dancer and a martial artist who entertained an audience of about 200. But after the show was over, the audience chose Senior Master Sgt. Esteban Rodriguez, 452 OG, as the night's stand-out performer.

Staff Sgt. David Jackson, 452 AMXS, strummed his way to second place with an original piece, and Capt. Joanne Heick, 752 MDS, sang a Patsy Cline favorite, "Crazy" to take third.

"The show went well, and we had some amazing talent," said March Idol coordinator Staff Sgt. Reyna Turner. "It seems to get bigger and bigger every year."
