The office is looking for volunteers who could work a three hour weekly shift helping answer clients' questions.

Professional innovative volunteers wanted! Any retired military person with time on their hands and a desire to assist other retirees and their families should apply. A volunteer is expected to work a three-hour weekly shift answering and researching clients' questions.

The Retiree Activities Office (RAO), 452nd Air Mobility Wing, is an official Air Force function, guided by an Air Force instruction and supported by appropriated funds. Its principal responsibility is to act as a point of contact for the military retiree community with the active-duty offices and agencies on the installation.

The RAO staff, with an active-duty background in different services and a variety of career fields, is able to handle almost any problem or know who could handle it. Our goal is to provide service excellence, client respect, outstanding performance.

The RAO is unique within the Air Force, since it is the only one manned entirely by retirees from the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. With over 500 years of active duty experience in most career fields and overseas experience on all continents, the RAO is capable of addressing most of the problems of retirees and annuitants.

We maintain direct liaison with the Air Force Personnel Center and the Defense Finance & Accounting Service, and with other RAOs in California, including those of other branches of the service.

If we do not know the answer, we know who does, where the office is located in the U.S. or overseas, and how to contact it.

The RAO, enjoying outstanding support from the 452 AMW and subordinate units.

Office hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. For more information or to volunteer, call retired Air Force Maj. Duncan Dieterly.

"Still serving? Absolutely and with pride."
