According to Senior Master Sgt. Antony Rice, 452nd AMW Recruiting, applicants are eligible for the Montgomery GI bill-Selected Reserve, which pays $317 per month for full time attendance at an accredited school. They may also be eligible for supplemental educational assistance, the Montgomery G.I. Bill Kicker Program, if they choose to serve in one of the selected critical career fields for which they will receive an additional $350 per month. Additionally, tuition assistance is offered, which may reimburse 100% of undergraduate tuition with a maximum of $4,500 per year. As a member of the Reserve, certain individuals may also be eligible for bonuses in critical career fields. "The benefits recruiters stress are the educational, training and travel benefits," said Sergeant Rice. "When getting more in-depth they explain the camaraderie, how being a member of the Reserve is like family and how there are numerous networking possibilities." There are thousands of jobs within the Air Force Reserve, from medical services to avionics technicians to combat videographers to fighter pilots. Over 80 percent of the opportunities open to Reservists offer experience and skills development that are directly transferable to civilian careers.
