Bob Westergard, March Air Reserve Base BX manager, Stephanie Kuykendall, March Base Exchange, and Talia Wesley, program support specialist for Southern California ESGR, Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve which is a Department of Defense organization, sign a statement of support publicly demonstrating support for their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The ESGR 5-Star Employer Program seeks to inform and educate employers about their rights and responsibilities towards their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve, and to also recognize and reward those employers who go “over and above” the requirements of the law. A 5-Star Employer denotes the following: 1. Signed a Statement of Support publicly demonstrating support for their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. 2. Reviewed their human resources policies to ensure compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act Law (USERRA). 3. Promotes training for managers and supervisors to effectively manage their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve. 4. Adopted polices and programs that are “Above and Beyond” what is required by the USERRA Law. 5.
