LOS ANGELES, Calif. - - Members of March Air Reserve Base, along with members of other service branches, participated in the opening day ceremony for the Los Angeles Dodgers Major League Baseball team on March 28.

In a symbol of tradition and patriotism, members of the armed forces carried a large United States American flag across the baseball field at Dodger’s stadium during the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner.

After the ceremony concluded, Team March members were invited to enjoy the baseball game and interact with members of the Dodgers staff.

Throughout the event, Team March members expressed a high-level of excitement to be a part of the festivities.

Tech. Sgt. Victoria Fiermonte and Tech. Sgt. Jennifer Navarro, assigned to the 452nd Aerospace Medical Squadron, were both thrilled to be apart of an iconic day for their favorite Major League Baseball team. “I am super excited to be here and I am honored to be here on the field in blue,” said Fiermonte.

“I have been coming here [Dodger Stadium] since I was a baby,” said Navarro. “As a child, I was inspired seeing military members on the field and I knew I wanted to be on the field myself one day.”

As Team March members embraced the moment before walking onto the Dodger Stadium field, a sense of pride overcame them. “It’s awesome to be here and I feel home,” said Navarro.
