Are you a RESILIENT person?

I like to read about people who have overcome great adversity...people dealing with physical challenges, poverty, social barriers, etc. They encourage me to succeed.

These people have developed an ability to change a negative situation into an opportunity to learn, to grow and to succeed. How do they do this? What inspires them to persevere through the tough times? One quality they all have in common is RESILIENCE.

RESILIENCE: the ability to adapt well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or other significant sources of stress.

The resilience formula

Resilience is the combination of many attributes. Here are five attributes that will increase your overall success in the face of adversity.

OPTIMISM: maintaining a positive attitude

HARDINESS: persevering through the tough times

SELF-CONFIDENCE: empowering yourself to succeed

MASTERY: controlling aspects of your environment

COHERENCE: developing realistic beliefs

Can you think of other "resilient" qualities from your own life experiences? My challenge to you...Be a more RESILIENT person...for yourself, your family and in your military service!
