U. S. Coast Guard launches from March Air Reserve Base
March Air Reserve Base Air Terminal Operations Center personnel and Reserve loadmasters from Dover Air Force Base, Del., assist U.S. Coast Guard members from Port Security Unit 311, based in Long Beach, Calif., with the upload of two Generation IV Transportable Port Security Boats, onto a C-17 Globemaster III, Jan. 11. It is the first-ever operational deployment for the newest generation of port security boats. They are being deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to provide security for the waters surrounding the base. After 43 years, Norma Castillo retires
Mrs. Norma T. Castillo, center, retired after more than 43 years of Federal service, Thursday, Jan. 10. She proudly served her country with dedication, skill and leadership. Her career began July 22, 1969, where she met and overcame serious challenges and obstacles to successfully execute her assigned duties — many of those activities were accomplished as the year-end closeout monitor. TRX Suspension Training System in Place

Col Stormes retirement ceremony
Col. Stormes (right), commander, 452d Maintenance Group, March Air Reserve Base, Calif., retired after more than 30 years of dedicated military service, Jan. 5, at a ceremony held in Bldg. 2306.
