A day at the beach turns into a life saving event

Staff Sgt. Gary Mathieson, 452nd Airlift Control Flight, was involved in a life-saving event during what was supposed to be a fun day at the beach. During Labor Day weekend, Mathieson rescued two inexperienced swimmers from certain injury after being overwhelmed by powerful waves that could have sent them crashing into the rocks which protruded from the beach front.
