Retreat memorial ceremony reflects on fallen heroes

Some 500 members of the 452d Air Mobility Wing lined the front of the headquarters building for an early Memorial Day ceremony and wing commander’s call last Saturday. Memorial Day represents a time to remember and honor the untold sacrifices of those who have gone before us. It is also a time to remember that those who gave their lives in the defense of this country have left behind families. The freedoms America enjoys today have come at a cost, paid not only by those who died, but also by those who lived. A member of the honor guard played taps for the ceremony and, afterwards, retreat marked the end of the ceremony. (U.S. Air Force photo by MSgt Mike Blair)
