Broken Shaft: Riverside edges out Team March in annual golf tournament

Team March golfers were hampered by a head wind at the annual Broken Shaft golf tournament where the civilians of the community won the team trophy by only 50 strokes. The annual golf game, organized by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce for more than 30 years, saw about 40 players take the course. This year’s tournament again was played at Jurupa Golf Course. Awards were presented after the game for closest to the pin, low net score, low gross score and best ball net. The players enjoyed dinner in the club house as well as a good amount of teasing when the broken shaft trophy was presented.
