Main gate reopens
Brig. Gen. James Melin, 452nd Air Mobility Wing commander, cuts the ribbon to officially open the new visitor’s center. Jim Rossi, SSI project manager, left, Ryan Wood, acting base civil engineer, and Lt. Col. Cary Conners, 452nd Security Forces Squadron commander, join in the ceremony. The new roundabout requires drivers to pay attention to directional signs which lead them either into the base or to the parking lot of the visitor’s center. There also is a commercial truck inspection turnout and an exit base lane.
