Tom Cawthon to retire after 34 years

Tom Cawthon, Chief of Civilian Personnel Flight, gives a farewell speech at his retirement ceremony at 452nd Military Personnel Flight, Dec. 16, after receiving a retirement certificate from Maj. Maureen McAllen, commander, 452nd Mission Support Squadron. Cawthon will retire Jan. 2 after 34 years of Air Force civil service, which includes 23 years in his current position at March Air Reserve Base, Calif. Once he retires, Cawthon said he may do some government contract work, and will be a volunteer soccer referee trainer with the AYSO in Redlands and throughout Southern California. He’s been a volunteer soccer referee for 20 years. “It’s been a privilege working with so many fine professionals over the years,” he said. “I will miss all of them, but I’m ready to move on with different things in my life.”
