Tech. Sgt.. Kenneth Kooser, a member of the 163d Logistics Readiness Squadron at March ARB, was part of a council that created a memorial for 9/11 while he was deployed with the 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait. As a result, he was coined by the wing commander and received a letter of appreciation. The memorial reads in part: “We will never forget the tragedy that fell upon that fateful day. It was a day that saw the security provided by two boundless oceans for 200 years shattered in the twinkling of an eye. A day when innocent life was lost for no just reason. We grieve with those who still grieve. Yet from the ruin and ashes arose the spirit of heroes and it has hastened our nation to rise together as one. It is this same spirit that leads men and women to sacrifice so much for the cause of so many. It too is this spirit that helps these brave souls face down and defeat tyranny and bring hope to all."
