Navy Operational Support Center changes command
Commander Daniel Burns relinquished command of the Navy Operational Support Center, located at March Air Reserve Base, Calif., July 20. Cmdr. Burns culminates 24 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Navy Reserve. His leadership resulted in the command earning consecutive Retention Excellence Awards in 2010 and 2011, as well as the command’s selection as Navy Region Southwest Reserve Component Command’s “Medium Navy Operational Support Center of the Year” for 2010. Navy Operational Support Center changes command
Lt. Cmdr. Eric Cottrell, right, assumes command of the Navy Operational Support Center, Moreno Valley, a tenant unit at March Air Reserve Base, Calif., July 20. Prior to his arrival, Cottrell served as the deputy executive assistant to the Chief of Navy Reserve. During his career, Cottrell was also assigned to the Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Mine Countermeasure Mission Package Detachment Two and Afloat Training Group Pacific. He served aboard the USS Peleliu (LHA-5), USS Kauffman (FFG-59), USS Nashville (LPD-13) and the USS Antrim (FFG-20). The unit hailed Cottrell, wife Yvonne and son Ellis.
