Nebraskans visit California bases
Captain Andrew Vandertoorn, a C-17 pilot with the 729th Airift Squadron at March Air Reserve Base (center in flight suit), gives a tour of a C-17 to civilian employers of Reserve and National Guard service members July 23. The employers were from cities across Nebraska and had flown on a KC-135 to March ARB for a three-day tour of military installations in California. The employers spent a full day at the base visiting the C-17s, 144th Fighter Wing Detachment 1, Air and Marine Operations Center and the Defense Media Center. The Nebraska Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve organized the "Bosslift" to provide employers a better understanding of what Guard and Reserve members do when they are performing military duties away from their civilian jobs.
