Members of March’s elite Phoenix Ravens attend Practical Pistol Course for Concealed Carry training, Nov. 30. Ravens must qualify like everyone else on the 9mm handgun; however, they must shoot and reload without using their dominant arm. After performing Raven quarterly training, March Raven's held tryouts, where prospective Ravens endure a "smoke" session, Nov. 30. Ravens don't recruit regularly but when they do, potential Ravens are put to the test with an Air Force physical training test and then the smoke session, where the goal is to exhaust the Airmen by having them perform a rigorous workout. March ARB breaks ground on new airfield traffic control tower and base operations facility
The new $16.5 million project is designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver standard and replaces the current tower and airfield operations facility built in 1958. March Airman takes top honors in State Department photography contest

Govea II, while assigned to the 1/17 Infantry Regiment, 5/2 Stryker Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., during a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, at Kandahar Field, Afghanistan, in 2009. Birds of a different feather
