FORMER MARCH COMMANDER GETS 2ND STAR
HE’S DEPUTY TO THE CHIEF: Maj. Gen. James T. Rubeor, former commander of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing, watches as his wife, Michele, and father, retired Col. Russ Rubeor, pin on his second star during a promotion ceremony July 5 at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Va. General Rubeor is the deputy to Lt. Gen. Charles E. Foulois Centennial Ceremony
On March 2, Fort Sam Houston is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the first flight by a military pilot in a military aircraft. In 1910 on that day, then 1st Lt. Benjamin Foulois, United States Army, made the famous flights at 9:30 a.m. on the Arthur MacArthur parade field in a Type A, Wright Flyer, and included his first solo takeoff, first solo landing, and first crash.
