Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks at the ceremony awarding her the Congressional Gold Medal, June 15, 1999. Parks, known as the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement, was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Award by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal for her bravery to stand up to racial segregation by refusing to give up her bus seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Comm Flight in the Fight
Leeann Schunke, 452nd Communications Squadron contractor, Communications Focal Point section, troubleshoots teleworker issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. The CFP provides technical support over the phone and in person to help ensure March Air Reserve Base personnel have telework capabilities, to include Virtual Private Networks and Desktop Anywhere. The CFP staff follows DOD and CDC guidelines to limit the possible spread of the virus, following precautionary steps such as wiping computer systems before and after maintenance, washing hands after working on each computer, and maintaining six feet of separation from coworkers and customers.
